FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my chip can be repaired?
The rough rule: if the damaged area fits under a quarter and isn't sitting directly in the driver's line of sight, it's usually a repair. Longer cracks can often still be stopped if they're caught early and haven't picked up dirt or moisture.
Don't guess. Text a photo to 470-215-4706 with a coin next to the damage for scale and we'll tell you for free.
How long does a repair take?
About 30 minutes per chip, start to finish, done wherever the vehicle is parked. The resin cures under UV light before we leave, so there's no waiting period. You can drive off immediately.
Does insurance cover it?
Chip repair generally falls under comprehensive coverage. Georgia does not require insurers to waive the glass deductible. That's a common myth, but many carriers voluntarily cover chip repair at no cost to the policyholder, because a repair is far cheaper for them than the replacement it prevents.
Call your carrier and ask specifically about chip repair rather than replacement. If you'd rather skip the paperwork entirely, ask us for a cash price.
Can a cracked windshield put my truck out of service?
Yes. Under 49 CFR §393.60, damage in the driver's viewing area is only permitted if it can be covered by a ¾-inch disc and is at least 3 inches from any other damaged area, and intersecting cracks are not permitted. A spreading chip in the wrong spot is an inspection finding waiting to happen.
Do you actually come to us?
That's the whole model. Every repair we do is mobile: your yard, your job site, your driveway, the dealership lot. For fleets, we work through the vehicles on-site so nothing has to leave the property.
How many vehicles do I need for fleet pricing?
There's no hard minimum. If you've got more than a couple of units with damage, it's worth a conversation. Per-unit rates improve with volume, and a standing schedule beats calling us one chip at a time. See the fleet program.
